What is the Origin of Galassi?
Galassi, a beacon of refined taste and timeless beauty, traces its roots back to a small atelier nestled in the heart of a picturesque Italian village. It was there that a visionary artisan, first breathed life into his creations; Ernesto Galassi, my great grandfather was inspired by the grandeur and the allure of haute couture, he embarked on a quest to bring beauty and luxury to the world.
He became one of the most well known haute couture tailors in Brooklyn, New York while raising seven children and cherishing his wife Angelina. The values of family were sewn tight, which were then later passed onto me.
How Did the Legacy Continue?
My family sailed from Italy to write their last name in the Ellis Island book. With nothing to the name of Galassi, but a father who knew how to sew and a mother who cared deeply for a growing family, they searched for a better life in America, where the journey had just begun.
My grandmother was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, and was the youngest of seven children. She always wanted to attend college but was told that it was unrealistic for a woman to pursue such a career. Instead she paved the way by becoming the first generation of women in the Galassi family to graduate high school. She then later on worked for the FBI as a secretary and met my grandfather.
Little did they know that generations later I would find our last name in that same Ellis Island book that granted them opportunity, little did they know I would go back to Brooklyn, New York and walk the same streets they once did, little did they know I would learn all the pasta sauce recipes they created, and little did they know I made Galassi for Galassi.

From the master craftsmen to impeccable tenaciousness of hard work and hope, I decided to keep contributing these values to the legacy of elegance and fearlessness that defined and still defines us as a family.
