Over these past couple of months, I have had the pleasure of being the copywriting intern at Galassi. This was not only my first interning experience, but also Bella Bishop’s first time having an intern. I am so grateful for this opportunity and all of the knowledge I have gained during my time here at Galassi. Although I am sad that it is coming to an end, I will take everything I have learned with me.

To be a small business owner, you have to be about the hustle. It takes a certain type of person to run a business successfully, and Bella is that person. She has shown so much grace, creativity, and hard work through Galassi. I have come to find out that Galassi is more than just a brand, more than just a business. Galassi is Bella Bishop. Galassi is accessible luxury at its finest.

There is so much work and detail that goes on behind the scenes to run Galassi smoothly. What our Galassi Girls don’t see is the countless hours of brand curation, sale and viewer analytics, social media activity, thorough organization, actually selling the products, and planning things months in advance. Those cute photos you see have a lot of work that goes into them - more than what meets the eye.

The fashion industry moves at a very fast pace, and to stay relevant, you have to keep up with it. Competing against fast fashion companies, and a million other brands out there, you have to be both relevant and unique to make it. Because Bella puts such hard work into her brand, Galassi achieves this. The luxury fashion that is offered is truly timeless and trendy, while being accessible to different crowds.

Even though the fashion industry can be a very stressful one, Bella has never let it change who she is, which is a kind, caring, and open individual. Working for Bella was not like working for any boss, but instead she was more of a mentor to me. She has constantly offered me help with work I did for Galassi, and with my own personal life. She tells you that if you ever need anything, she is there to help, and she actually means it. Bella takes the time out of her day to make sure her team is doing well. She is open to new ideas, allows a lot of creative freedom, and is quick to compliment on good work.

Working for Galassi, I have found a new sense of self. I am an English student at Old Dominion, and don’t have plans on working in the fashion industry again. Despite that, fashion has become a priority in my life since I began at Galassi. Being surrounded by such talent and style, I have reinvested into my own personal wardrobe. This experience has helped me realize that fashion is not shallow or unimportant. If delved into, it can be an extension of one’s self. It’s an expression. And no one can tell me that it isn’t important to feel confident in what you wear.

I may not be a Galassi intern for forever, but I will definitely be a Galassi Girl for life.

Xoxo, Reagan Williams
